The Witcher 3: Where To Find Acid Extract

Mar 02, 2025

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is one of the most complex and complete RPGs of the last 10 years. It allows players to interact with tons of different NPCs, craft several silver and steel swords as well as resistant armor sets, and take on nightmarish monsters that will put their reflexes to the test. The game also features great missions with tough choices, such as letting Triss be tortured or not in “Count Reuven’s Treasure”.

Crafting is also a critical part of the game, and to do so, you'll have to get different components from various sources. Here’s where to find Acid Extract in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

The Nithing quest in The Witcher 3 is very intriguing and will often raise interesting questions. Here's the best choice you can make.

Acid Extract is a rare component that has several uses throughout the story of The Witcher 3. This component was not available in the base game, as it was first introduced in the Blood and Wine expansion. There are many ways to get Acid Extract as you explore the Continent. Acid Extract can be obtained by dismantling:

It’s also a guaranteed drop from Giant Centipedes and Pale Widows.

If players don't feel like gathering it themselves, Acid Extract can be purchased from these merchants:

As you can see, there's no shortage of options and locations to get Acid Extract from. This component has a base value of 15 Florens, can be bought for 67-68 Florens, and can be sold for 3-13 Florens, depending on many factors.

Acid Extract can be used to craft valuable components, which are:

Enriched Dimeritium Ore is a key component to crafting Grandmaster Witcher gear sets, so if you’re on a quest to get them all, you’ll need to start farming and buying Acid Extract left and right to obtain this precious component.

A great place to farm Acid Extract is in the Giant Centipede nest located southeast of Fort Astre Ruins. You can’t miss it, as you’ll visit it as part of the “Big Game Hunter” Witcher Contract quest. You can also find respawning Giant Centipedes on the road east of Casteldaccia.

You should also focus on killing Kikimores, as the Kikimore Discharges that they drop can be dismantled for three Acid Extract units each. The drop rate is low, but it’s worth a try. If you’re struggling with any of these enemies, you can also try respeccing to improve your chances of success.
